Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984

One of 2020s most anticipated film was ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and due to COVID-19, there was an uncertainty clouding the release of the film. Audiences were not sure if they were going to see the film in 2020. However, Warner Bros. bit the bullet and released the film in theatres on boxing day 2020. The film was met with a strong audience opinion, with fans pleased with the way the film turned out. Today I am going tell you three reasons why you need to pick up a copy today and watch Wonder Woman 1984:

The first reason is the villains of the film. The film has not one, but two main antagonists that Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) must face. The first is Maxwell Lord, played by the devilishly charming Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian). Pascal brings a gravitas to the role, making the character engaging whilst also menacing at the same time. The second villain that audiences were treated to was Barbara Minerva also known as Tigress bought to life by Kristen Wiig. Wiig does a fantastic job at bringing the character to life, with her wit and charm on full display, showing her tremendous range and on-screen likeability.

The second the reason is Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot. Gadot proved fans wrong in her first solo outing as the titular hero. Her casting was met with backlash from fans, concerning the physical appearance of the character, as the Amazonian has traditionally been depicted as a taller, more muscular woman. However, Gadot defied expectations, absolutely knocking it out of the park, confirming physical depictions of the character really do not matter. In ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, Gadot again knocks out of the park as Dianna, showing her range as a performer, capable of kicking butt on-screen but also delivering in the films more subtle and emotional sequences.

And the third and final reason to check out ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is the films the 1980s nostalgia. Hollywood has been on a trend for almost five years now, harkening back to a simpler time, with many projects being set in the 1980s. As the film's title suggests, ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ follows suit, being set in the same era. The film is filled with nostalgia, with many sequences showcasing the decade in its full glory. From the music to the outfits to the locations. The whole film screams 1984.

Wonder Woman 1984 is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K UHD from Sanity in-store and online! Be sure to pick up your copy today, you will not be disappointed.
