BIG BLACK DELTA is the brainchild of LA based artist Jonathan Bates - no stranger to pushing boundaries - who until recently was the driving force behind alt. rock favourites Mellowdrone, has been heavily involved in M83’s live and studio sound, has also worked with the likes of White Sea and has also been in demand for remixes working with Daft Punk, Rob Zombie, M83, Dhani Harrison’s Thenewno2’s (and most recently with Maynard from Tool’s and his new project Puscifer).

With 2012 seeing BBD tour with Jane’s Addiction, The Joy Formidable, M83, and after massive buzz shows at SXSW 2013 (featured show of the day SXSW site) having Jay-Z, M83 and Dave Navarro take to their online outlets to heap praise on the band now comes BBD’s self titled debut album - a collection of tracks fusing ambient, electronic rock with uplifting melodies to create a sound that refuses to be denied.
