It's rare to find original albums by major artists that have never been re-issued on CD. Raven presents for the first time ever on CD, two outstanding country albums by renowned singer NICOLETTE LARSON ...Say When (1985) and Rose of My Heart (1986) originally recorded for MCA Nashville. Nicolette Larson first came to prominence as harmony vocalist for some of the foremost names in American music – Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Hoyt Axton, Emmylou Harris, Michael McDonald, Commander Cody, Guy Clark, Jesse Winchester, Rodney Crowell, Graham Nash, Rita Coolidge... In 1979 she scored notable hits as a solo artist with covers of Young's "Lotta Love" and Winchester's "Rhumba Girl", both bright and breezy examples of West Coast pop-rock. In 1984 she signed a new deal with MCA Nashville.
The mellifluous tone and natural twang of her voice was well suited to country and the Academy of Country Music named her the Top New Female Vocalist of the year. Produced by Emory Gordy, Jr. and Tony Brown Say When was ripe with full-bodied country-rock twang, including the singles "Only Love Will Make it Right" (featuring Jerry Douglas on dobro) and "When You Get a Little Lonely" (featuring Emmylou Harris on backing harmonies). Rose of My Heart spawned her biggest country hit (#9) in "That's How You Know When Love's Right", a duet with Steve Wariner. Other guest vocalists included Dave Loggins on the gently funky "If Only for One Night" and good friend Linda Ronstadt on "You're Running Wild".
