The late, great Bloomfield is recognised as one of the finest and most influential blues guitarists that America has ever produced. Best known for his astonishing technique and the piercing tone of his solos, he was a member of the ground-breaking Paul Butterfield Blues Band and played on Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone'.
He helped pioneer horn-rock with the Electric Flag and the Super Session concept with renowned producer / key-boardist Al Kooper. Bloomfield and Kooper and Bloomfield and singer / songwriter Gravenites, a respected blues-man in his own right, cut a number of incendiary performances at Bill Graham?s Fillmore(s) West and East between 1968 and 1969. The concerts have been spread across several album releases and this unique CD rounds out the whole story in fine style.
