Marley, the highly anticipated documentary film about the life and career of Bob Marley hits cinema screens on April 20th and will be accompanied by the original soundtrack released by Island on the 13th April 2012.The film, directed by Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald, delves into the life of Island's most famous act. This is the first time that a full-length feature has received the full backing and support of both the Marley family and Island founder Chris Blackwell. Rare footage, archival photos and incredible performances and interviews with his family, friends and band mates make up this remarkable film. The production team have been working extensively with Island and the family over the past few months.The film will debut in over 50 cinemas nationwide with the intention of expanding further later in May. The Berlin film festival hosted the premiere which attracted praise from critics.The original soundtrack compiles the best of Bob Marley's hits, live versions from the archives and previously unheard material that also feature in the film. The soundtrack release ties in closely with the aesthetic of the film.
