Canadian ‘party-core’ popsters These Kids Wear Crowns are set to take Australia by storm with their infectious new album ‘Jumpstart’ to be released on September 2nd. Hailing from a town called Chilliwack, this energetic six-piece keep the energy high with big, sing-along electro dance-pop-rock songs. Since forming in 2009 they have already performed with the likes of Good Charlotte and Forever The Sickest Kids.
The eleven song studio album, and their first full-length release on EMI, was produced by A-listers Matt Squire (3OH!3, Katy Perry) and Gggarth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, Hedley), and mixed by Mark Needham (Neon Trees, The Killers). It includes their current hit single also entitled ‘Jumpstart’ which has been climbing the single and airplay charts in Australia at a fast rate. The album also features the tracks ‘Skeletons’, ‘Break It Up’, ‘Oceans’ and ‘We All Fall Down’, taken from the band’s original EP only released in Canada.
It also includes brand new material including a cover of the Whitney Houston smash hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. And it's not surprising the album is called Jumpstart because These Kids Wear Crowns members Alex Johnson (lead singer), Joshua McDaniel (guitar/vocals), Joe Porter (guitar/vocals), Alan Poettcker (bass/vocals), Matt Vink (keyboards) and drummer Josh Mitchinson are an energetic bunch! “We’re gonna give it a Jumpstart / 4,3,2,1 go! / What’s up? / When we get it going / no way we’re gonna stop!" With their fanbase growing at a swift rate, their catchy pop sound and high energy live shows, These Kids Wear Crowns undeniably signal the next phase of pop music.
