Gotye is the music-making mantle of Wally De Backer, songwriter, producer and all-round one-man band. A few years ago he created an album that became something of an underground classic. 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is the new single featuring vocals from lauded newcomer Kimbra. It's the second taste of Gotye's album, Making Mirrors, the highly anticipated follow-up to his platinum-selling classic, Like Drawing Blood which recently polled #11 Triple J’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time. The mid July release of Somebody That I Used To Know (featuring Kimbra) came a few days earlier than planned owing to a leak of the video online. Within a week the song had been shared online over 50,000 times and it is currently sitting at #1 on the iTunes single chart.
