Yoga from newborn to 18 months

As a mother of four and a teacher of baby yoga for many years I have found that yoga has helped my children as much as me to thrive. Baby yoga is a particularly beautiful way to bond and spend time with a young baby and can be started as young as newborn.
The benefits of Baby yoga are endless and it is great for parents, grandparents and carers alike. With stimulating eye contact baby yoga helps nurture a greater responsiveness and deeper bonding between carer and baby, whilst on a physiological level it is stimulating all the systems within the baby?s body simultaneously. The digestive system is stimulated to relive colic and wind, the respiratory system is stimulated to aid lung development and breathing, muscles and joints are mobilized to activate and strengthen the baby's muscles and tissues and by relaxing the baby a more quality sleep can be achieved. All of this helps to establish a healthy foundation for your baby?s body and mind but Baby yoga also helps the parent or carer to feel more confident and involved with the child.
Baby yoga is wonderful for all carers and it can also be particularly helpful if your baby has been separated from you at birth in the hospital and you feel you missed out on that early bonding time. It can also be very helpful to mothers suffering from post natal depression as it offers a guided activity to do with a creature who is otherwise really too young to do much more than sleep, feed or cry!!!

1. Baby yoga : 12 minutes
2. Baby yoga and Massage : 20 minutes
3. Playtime yoga for more active older babies : 10 minutes
