ONEIDA were formed in 1997 in Brooklyn, and have been a mainstay of the underground scene ever since, recording numerous cult records and constantly touring.The group made a name for itself in the New York area by virtue of its raucous liveperformances, which were frequently conducted in lofts and warehouses.The sound is huge and intimate all at once; the songs have hooks and staying power.Calling on references like classic German art rock such as CAN and KRAFTWERK, sonic terrorists like SONIC YOUTH, and '60s garage rock icons like the ELECTRIC PRUNES, theband crafts a sound that is obviously in debt to the past, but alive and well in the here and now.
