Journey To the Centre of the Earth is based on Jules Verne's classic adventure novel first published in 1864 and stars Brendan Fraser. The film is a cinematic landmark, using James Cameron's new digital system "read-D", the entire film was shot in 3D, the first live-action narrative feature ever to do so. Composer Andrew Lockington is a protégé of noted composer Mychael Danna. The distinctive and innovative score utilises a large orchestra and choir and the orchestral percussion of the Japanese drumming ensemble Nagata Shachu.
