The Critically-acclaimed vocalist finally unveils a project dear to her heart, ‘’78’ has been in the works for several years, and marks a stylistic departure from Pink Martini yet a return to her own roots for the much herald vocalist and wordsmith provocateur whose work with Pink Martini has sold nearly two million records worldwide.

Written entirely by China, ’78 is a stirring mixture of alt country, rock and folk all mixed in, ‘78 is a passionate, highly personal song cycle filled with intimate stories of love, loneliness, friendship and alienation. Recorded in the singer’s now-hometown of Portland, Oregon produced by the renowned GREGG WILLIAMS (SHERYL CROW, THE WALLFLOWERS, DANDY WARHOLS) and backed by Williams on drums and multi-instrumentalist ERIC EARLEY (BLITZEN TRAPPER) with cameos by ERIC MATTHEWS and Pink Martini band mate PHIL BAKER, ‘78 features Forbes on an array of instruments including guitar, piano, bass, harmonium and Wurlitzer.
