On The Memphis Album, Guy pays tribute to a selection of classic soul tunes, with his own fantastic versions of tracks including Soul Man, In The Midnight Hour, Knock On Wood, Take Me To The River, I Can’t Stand The Rain.

Guy recorded the album in Memphis; his band comprised various legendary Stax musicians, including Steve Cropper, Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn, Steve Potts, Lester Snell, Dave Smith.

Steve Cropper, who co-wrote (Sittin’ On The) Dock Of The Bay, In The Midnight Hour, Knock On Wood, produced the album with Guy.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Stax label.

The Memphis Album is Guy’s fourth album, following Just As I Am (6x platinum), Beautiful Life (platinum) and Closer To The Sun (platinum).
