They depended on each other, and the world depended on them.
On June 6, 1944 an elite rifle company parachuted into France and made world history on what would become known as D-Day. Now, the story of this elite Army unit, told through a ten-part epic that will become a part of home entertainment history.
Based on Stephen E. Ambrose's nonfiction bestseller, BAND OF BROTHERS tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Starting with their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942, it recounts the achievements of the elite rifle company from D-Day to the fall of Nazi Germany and the surrender of Japan.

An amazing series
Not being a fan of war movies I wouldn't normally have chosen to watch Band of Brothers. But I happened to catch it on TV when it started several weeks ago.
After watching the first episode 'Currahee' I was hooked. What appealed to me was the fact that the show focuses on the soldiers and gives a human perspective of the war, rather than just focusing on the fighting.
The focus shifts between soldiers in each episode. The fact that Band of Brothers is a mini series allows for a greater character development.
This focus allows you to develop a bond with the characters especially Major Winters, played brilliantly by Damian Lewis (Life). I was genuinely sad to see it end, due to the bond forged with the characters.
I would highly recommend people to watch Band of Brothers, you won't be disappointed. Don't worry if you're not a fan of war movies, I'm not and I loved it.
