Solarpunk

This debut album, “Solarpunk”, resurrects the magic of the Amblin productions (E.T., Gremlins, The Goonies, Young Sherlock Holmes…) where digital synth arpeggios embraced the warmth of orchestras, while summoning the epic energy of Japanese cartoon theme songs and the luminous aesthetic of Nintendo consoles. Far from sinking into a nostalgic style exercise, Dagerlöff’s approach is resolutely contemporary: the musician-producer – like his labelmate Shoko Igarashi, whose New City Pop colours he now shares – weaves an invisible thread between eras and genres, building bridges between the poetry of Ryuichi Sakamoto and the experiments of Daniel Lopatin, crossing the legacy of Wendy Carlos with the modern textures of Disasterpeace. The result is a living, rich and deeply colourful record, tinged with the gentle melancholy of an era when purity of spirit was inseparable from magic.
