12:55 Ceci n'est pas une V

Across ten tracks, V presents shades of Italo, krautrock, post-punk, minimal synth, industrial pop and neon-noir romanticism, arriving somewhere between the dancefloor and a dream-state. The cast of collaborators both contextualize and help sharpen the vision. First and foremost, much of the album was crafted alongside Frankfurt’s Philipp Lauer, whose friendship with V grew through marathon studio sessions. Curses lends his unmistakable blend of dark romance and theatrical energy to “Is This What You Want?”, Australian cosmic journeyman Dreems joins for the kaleidoscopic “Blitz Disc,” Domenique Dumont brings their unmistakable emotive touch to “Avventura,” while Lithuanian artists Noyus and Ruta MUR, both distinctive voices from the country’s queer scene, whose vocals add another dimension to the record's emotional palette. As V puts it, “These are the people I’ve been vibing with.”
