Stockport Shuffle Complete Uk Label Anthology

Heavily expanded 6CD overview of first two albums by early 70s art-pop titans 10cc. Features previously-unissued alternative versions, album session highlights, out-takes, rehearsals and BBC recordings. Includes additional DVD/Blu-ray disc with live TV performances and Surround Sound mixes During their two-year spell at Jonathan King's UK Records label, fledgling pop polymaths 10cc all four of whom had served protracted apprenticeships on the Manchester music scene of the 60s - cut two widely acclaimed albums, '10cc' and 'Sheet Music', as well as a handful of major hit singles that included 'Donna', 'The Wall Street Shuffle' and the chart-topping 'Rubber Bullets'. These recordings have been collected on numerous occasions over the last few decades, but finally the full, previously undocumented picture can be unveiled. With 6CDs and a bonus DVD/Blu-ray of video performances and Surround Sound mixes, 'The Stockport Shuffle' is nothing less than the early 10cc mother lode - a forensic, revelatory examination of the band's activities at their Strawberry Studios base in Stockport during the first two years of their existence. Alongside remastered versions of both albums and numerous singles are a dazzling number of previously unissued multitrack highlights (featuring alternative versions/arrangements/lyrics/ vocalists as well as works-in-progress, studio chatter, isolated vocal tracks and discarded instrumental/vocal parts), BBC session recordings and Eric Stewart's 1974 mono-only mixes for radio/TV use. With a 40-page booklet featuring numerous rare photos, band quotes and a new 7,000 word essay on the band's time at UK Records, 'The Stockport Shuffle' is the definitive document of 10cc's early years as they established what would prove to be an enduring reputation as creators of some of the sharpest, wittiest, most intelligent pop music ever made.
