10 Songs 10 Rhythms 1 Journey

Muharrem Aslan releases his new album ’10 Songs 10 Rhythms 1 Journey’ on Friday 30 October. The album features 10 original compositions in 10 different rhythmic structures, beginning in 2/4 and progressing all the way to 11/8. Each rhythm becomes a different story and carries a different emotion, with the baglama at the heart of the journey from beginning to end. Although the album title is in English, the songs and lyrics are in Turkish, while the music is deeply inspired by the rich rhythms, melodies and storytelling traditions of Anatolia. Muharrem Alsan wrote all the music, lyrics and arrangements, and independently recorded, produced, mixed and mastered the entire album in his own studio.
