Cradle Rock - Songs For Little Lives

Cradle Rock: Songs For Little Lives brings together some of Australia's most well-known artists to raise funds for Red Nose Australia, an organisation dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, infancy and childhood, as well as supporting families who have experienced the devastating loss of a child.

The album continues a legacy that began more than 37 years ago, when acclaimed producer, singer of The Cockroaches, and former Manager of The Wiggles Paul Field AM, organised the original Cradle Rock benefit concert following the death of his daughter Bernadette from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Field is once again calling on the Australian music community to support a cause that remains deeply personal. Cradle Rock: Songs for Little Lives boasts 11 original recordings from a diverse line-up of Australian artists, including Jimmy Barnes, The Wiggles, Kate Ceberano, Troy Cassar-Daley, Vika & Linda, Amber Lawrence and Lyn Bowtell, with all proceeds supporting the life-saving work of Red Nose Australia. Speaking about the album, Field said, “This album is an act of love by my friends on CRADLE ROCK. They know my baby daughter Bernadette died from SIDS and that her brief, shining life has had a huge impact since that day.

There are songs about the joy of parenthood, profound loss, determination, progress, grief and safe sleeping. The impact Red Nose Australia has had over the past 50 years is extraordinary. Their scientific, evidence-based safe sleeping campaigns have helped reduce the incidence of SIDS in Australia by more than 80 per cent. That's 11,000 babies lives saved!

This album is about helping them continue this mission, as well as researching stillbirth and miscarriage ,while also supporting families navigating grief and loss. No one can do it alone. All my love and thanks to all involved“.
