Love, Bondi: Celebrating the People, Culture and Spirit of Our Unique Community

Love, Bondi is a book of photographs with accompanying text that celebrates the people, culture and spirit of what is a globally iconic beachside community. Bondi has long been a reflection of who we are as an Australian nation culturally diverse, blessed by nature and democratic at its core. And Bondi as a community is more diverse than its reputation. When terrorists attacked and tragedy struck on 14 December 2025 the strength and value of that community became immediately apparent. Love, Bondi is also a joyous celebration of that. AUTHOR: At the age of 19, Melanie left her home in Adelaide to travel the world eventually landing in Paris where she lived and worked for five years, establishing an agency representing hair and make-up artists. Returning to Australia in 1987, she settled in Sydney where her then-eponymous Melanie Dames Agency expanded its remit to represent photographers. She married Remo Giuffré in 1991. What followed were many years focusing on family and working alongside Remo on REMO-related endeavours. Her work as the editor of the Bondi Observer blog and the author of Love, Bondi manifests a rekindled focus on her longstanding passions for photography, curation and the power of community. Melanie lives with Remo in North Bondi. They have two adult children, Lola (31) and Roman (27), both featured in Love, Bondi along with Olive, arguably the most loved dog in all of Bondi.
