They were ready to die for a country that did not yet exist, but none of them expected to fall in love.

In the years following the Holocaust, a group of young volunteers gathers on a kibbutz outside Tel Aviv for a dangerous secret mission. Hidden beneath the quiet farming community, they manufacture bullets for the underground fight to secure a homeland for the Jewish people.

Among them are Evie, Albert, Naomi, and Judah. Each arrives with their own past, their own wounds, and their own reasons for joining the cause. Bound together by danger and secrecy, they form an unlikely family as the fight for independence grows more desperate.

But war leaves little room for certainty. As bombings, betrayal, and loss close in around them, the choices they make will shape not only their futures, but the future of a nation.
