At The Speed of Gus

Augustus (Gus) Constantine’s brain moves fast—and rarely in a straight line. His mind (and mouth) run at a different speed than everyone else’s. Gus’s ADHD feels natural to him, but it often lands him in trouble. When he sends the morning announcements wildly off script, the laughter from his classmates isn’t enough to save him. He’s pushed Miss Funn and Principal Gorby too far—and earns a two-day suspension. With time to fill, Gus takes the ferry to visit his sister at college. But as the boat sets off, his thoughts race out of control. The ride grows wilder by the minute, blurring the line between what’s real and what’s imagined.
