Throughout his illustrious career as a record producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry consistently sought to test and, if possible, extend the boundaries of reggae music through his often-unconventional experimentation with sound. The seventh release in the recently launched series of Doctor Bird 2CD sets charting Perry's development as an independent producer from the late 60s onwards, 'Jungle Lion' showcases his most accomplished and innovative recordings prior to the opening of his pre-Black Ark recording studio.
