Architecture Connecting: Memoryscapes, the second volume in this book series in collaboration the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, examines the pivotal role of human narratives in shaping the spaces of tomorrow. Focusing on the relationship between architecture and the disciplines of anthropology, archaeology, and geology, the book presents the work of two studios whose practices engage deeply with the past through both precise interventions and broad investigative research. Showcasing work by DnA Architecture and Design (Beijing) and Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects (Tokyo and Paris), the publication explores approaches rooted in the excavation of memory, narrative, and place-specific knowledge. Through their work, the two studios demonstrate how architecture can respond to contemporary needs by connecting past and future. DnA _Design and Architecture, founded by Xu Tiantian, has undertaken numerous projects including the Songzhuang Art Center and the Ordos Art Museum. In recent years, the practice has been extensively involved in rural revitalisation initiatives in Songyang and Zhejiang Province. Xu Tiantian's architectural acupuncture proposes a holistic approach to the social and economic regeneration of rural China and has been selected by UN-Habitat as an Inspiring Practice on Urban-Rural Linkages. ATTA Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects is an international architecture atelier founded by Tsuyoshi Tane and based in Paris, with work spanning urban planning, architecture, and exhibition design across diverse geographic and cultural contexts. Key projects include the Estonian National Museum and the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art. Central to ATTA's practice is the concept of Archaeology of the Future, which explores the memory, culture, and anthropology embedded in each site.
