DC Gary Goodhew, the youngest and most intuitive detective at Cambridge’s Parkside Station, gets his first big break when a young woman’s body is found on Midsummer Common. The victim is Lorna Spence, and her boyfriend, Richard Moran, is devastated. He claims she was well-loved and had no enemies.

But Goodhew soon uncovers a web of suspects: a high-maintenance colleague, Victoria, and a reckless former classmate, Bryn. Both deny involvement, but Goodhew senses deception.
