Hyacinthe Jadin (1776-1800): 1st Quartet in B flat major, 2nd Quartet in A major, 3rd Quartet in F minor.
2011
The Franz Joseph Quartet invites you to discover the three string quartets from Opus 1 (Work 1) by Hyacinthe Jadin, a French composer little known today. He was born in 1776 in Versailles into a family of musicians and died young from tuberculosis at the age of 24 on September 27, 1800, at the dawn of a promising career. Through their four-movement architecture inherited from Haydn and their writing, Jadin's quartets foreshadow the great contrapuntal developments of the 19th century; With their pre-romantic aesthetic, they embody a French Sturm und Drang that heralds the Schubertian universe.
