Fans of The Hollywood Brats are in ecstasy as the band’s three legendary demo recordings from February 1974 – made shortly after the sessions for Grown Up Wrong – are now being released as the Hung Like Stallions EP. An exclusive collaboration between Big Dipper, Revolution Records, and the band itself. This maxi-EP brings together the classics “I Need You”, “Son Of The Wizard” and “I Ain’t Got You”, three tracks previously only available as bootlegs – with the original 7-inch changing hands for absurd sums on eBay these days. Side 2 opens with “Vampire Nazi”, a single where Matheson/Steel got a helping hand from Petter Baarli (The Backstreet Girls), both as co-writer and in the studio. The icing on the cake for completists is undoubtedly the fabled “Running Wild”, a rarity long thought lost shortly after it was recorded. This unique release is now available on vinyl in a limited edition with a gatefold sleeve. It also includes a separate insert with liner notes by Andrew Matheson and Tom Kristensen. On the inside of the sleeve, you’ll also find an in-depth interview with Matheson, Casino Steel, and E.S. Brady – likely the last interview ever conducted with the band before Andrew passed away at the end of May.
