In the gritty neglected suburbs of western Melbourne, a group of disillusioned youths navigate the harsh realities of their bleak existence. Psycho Joe (Young) is an awkward misfit steeped in solitude and isolation, until he starts a new job at a local supermarket. Here he meets local Don Juan, the charming and irresponsible Dazey (Mendelsohn), Dazeys beautiful and traumatised girlfriend Robyn (Nadine Garner) and Dazey-obsessed satanist Savina (Tara Morice, Strictly Ballroom). Tensions rise as the group grapple with their desires, dreams, and the harsh truths of their world, leading an increasingly lonely and desperate Joe to reach his boiling point. Following his widely acclaimed Romper Stomper, Geoffrey Wright again takes us to the lower depths of Generation X in a fractured society.
