Born in Osaka, Japan in 1972, Chiharu Shiota in her work links various aspects of art performances, sculpture and installation practices. Mostly renowned for her vast, room-spanning webs of threads or hoses, she has redefined the concept of memory, linking abstract networks with concrete everyday objects, such as shoes, keys, beds, chairs and dresses.
