Less well known today than her contemporaries Virginia Woolf and Rebecca West, Sinclair wrote 23 novels, 39 short stories, two philosophical texts, a biography of the Brontë sisters, and several poetry collections. She is widely credited with coining the term "stream of consciousness" and was a patron to the young Erza Pound.
