While no precise recording date is known for these recordings, it is presumed that the live material comes from the same cache of nightclub performances that yielded 1967's 'People Get Ready' and 1968's 'Now!'. Seen here transitioning from an old-school R&B and gospel outfit and into a hipper and decidedly more secular soul band 'Shout!' features standout tracks including 'Blues, Get Off My Shoulder', 'Shout' and 'Johnny B. Goode'.
