In Good Company

UK saxophonist Jake Fryer joins Bud Shank and his outstanding rhythm section with Mike Wofford, Bob Magnusson and Joe La Barbara for a stellar bebop session. This was sadly the final recording of Bud Shank as he passed away the day after it was made. Shank's playing, while not as sharp as in his prime, still has the ideas, fire and passion for which he was well known and Fryer shows he is in a class with other greats of the alto saxophone. The compositions are mostly originals by Jake Fryer along with two standards, Speak Low and Caravan.
