The Sedalia Ragtime Orchestra plays vintage arrangements of music from the Ragtime Era, roughly 1897-1917. The 12-piece group plays music by Scott Joplin, "The King of Ragtime," as well as marches, waltzes, show tunes, tangos, and vaudeville ditties from the dawn of Tin Pan Alley. The orchestra plays private events, concerts, and jazz festivals near their home base of Thousand Oaks, California, as well as at venues including the annual Scott Joplin Festival in Sedalia, Missouri. The Sedalia Ragtime Orchestra will be playing at Ragfest in Fullerton, California in April 2012 and the Scott Joplin Festival in Sedalia, Missouri in June 2012.
