Affectionately known as the Queen of Gospel and most certainly a star in her own right, Albertina Walker helped to promote the careers of such gospel legends as Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, and many others. As a vocalist, Walker remained a force in traditional gospel music for many decades and helped to popularize traditional gospel, first as founding member of the legendary Caravans gospel group and later as a solo artist beginning in the mid-1960' s. in 1989 she recorded the album God Is Love again carrying on the traditional gospel message with powerful songs including Just a Closer Walk with Thee, He Looked Beyond My Fault And Saw My Need and Holdin' On. All selections newly re-mastered.
