Ellis Marsalis's role in jazz is not just limited to his mastery of the piano; he is also a renowned jazz educator. Former pupils include (in addition to his sons) Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison, Harry Connick Jr.., among others. On this album, Ellis pays tribute to Duke Ellington on the year Duke's centennial.
