Antoinette Konan is a singer, composer, percussionist and women's rights activist who is music industry royalty in Ivory Coast. She has been a household name for decades now because of her modern approach to Baoulé traditional music and advocacy on behalf of female musicians in Cote d'Ivoire.

Reissued now via Awesome Tapes from Africa, Antoinette Konan's eponymous record from 1986, produced by Konan herself with arrangements by the legendary Ivorian music maker Bamba Yang.
