NRL - The Grand Finals Collection DVD

By the 1990s, the NSWRLs expansion to a truly national competition had come full circle, as the early part of the decade was dominated by the Canberra Raiders and Brisbane Broncos who had both joined the league in the 1980s while Newcastle and Melbourne would also secure their first ever Premierships in later years. It was a star-studded Raiders line-up featuring Mal Meninga, Laurie Daley, Ricky Stuart and Glenn Lazarus that accounted for a rising Panthers team in the 1990 decider, before the Panthers, led by Royce Simmons, Greg Alexander and a young Brad Fittler, went one better in 1991. A champion Broncos team that included Allan Langer, Kevin Walters and Steve Renouf then went back-to-back in 1992 and 1993 against the St George Dragons, before the Raiders forged their dynasty with another Premiership in 1994. In the second half of the decade, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles emerged as the competition benchmark in 1996, before being ambushed by underdogs Newcastle in 1997, as a stirring Knights victory was sealed by a famous Darren Albert try. The establishment of the reunified NRL competition following the Super League wars saw the Broncos emerge as the team to beat, winning in 1998 with superstars Darren Lockyer, Wendell Sailor, Gorden Tallis and Shane Webcke, before newcomers the Melbourne Storm won a thriller in 1999 in only their second season in the competition. Sit back and relive Rugby Leagues showpiece event with every Grand Final of the 1990s, presented in their original broadcast format.
