Friends

Friends was recorded in Bryan Ferry’s private studio and was self-produced by the band. Engineered by Grammy Award winner James Brown (Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys), and mixed by David Wrench (Caribou, FKA Twigs). On Friends, White Lies haven’t so much abandoned their trademark synth-rock sound as given it a spring clean, by exploring new sounds. Friends was launched with the release of ‘Take It Out On Me’, which started as an experiment in which White Lies aimed to write a chorus using just numbers. However, the song sounded so good that they gave the chorus real lyrics. ‘Hold Back Your Love’ and ‘Is My Love Enough’ sparkles with disco grooves, and the triumphant ‘Summer Didn’t Change A Thing’ harks back to the arena-ready rock sounds of their debut album To Lose My Life.
