"The Brisbane Broncos: a powerhouse club of the National Rugby League, and the most successful team of the past 25 years, with no less than six Premierships in that time. The first of two Queensland expansion clubs to gain entry to the NSWRL competition in 1998, it would be four short years before their first Grand Final triumph in 1992, which was followed by a back-to-back titles in 1993 – a feat not matched since – and a further four Premierships within the next 15 years, all under the watchful eye of master coach Wayne Bennett.

In the early 1990s it was heroics of the so-called “Ipswich Connection” of Allan Langer and Kevin and Kerrod Walters, try merchant Steve Renouf and human wrecking ball Glenn Lazarus that helped deliver Brisbane its first two Premierships. In the second half of that decade it was the flair of Wendell Sailor and Darren Lockyer and the unbridled passion of Gorden Tallis and Shane Webcke that brought a further three trophies to the club in 1997, 1998 and 2000. And in 2006 it was a gritty, never-say-die performance against overwhelming favourites the Melbourne Storm. During that time, the Brisbane Broncos have produced a host of champion teams and players who have all pulled on the now-famous maroon and gold jersey, and gone on to savour Premiership glory.
