The Acacia Strain are often referred to as the heaviest band around, and any doubt of this claim will surely be silenced when they unleash their new album, "Coma Witch", on October 17th. The Acacia Strain are pioneers of the Deathcore genre, and for the past 13 years they've been releasing albums that have stood the test of time and become "must have" staples in the metalcore community. Over the past decade The Acacia Strain have been busy doing what they do best: writing dark, heavy, terrifying music, while endlessly touring the world over, bringing their chaotic live show to packed venues night after night.

The Acacia Strain's newest offering "Coma Witch" is a double disc release. The first disc is a 10 song full length that doesn't disappoint. There's a noticeable evolution in the bands’ songwriting, they were clearly able to build on their past success and hone their craft, taking it to the next level. The second disc is a 27 minute opus that features brutal breakdowns, various time signatures, dark samples and deep growls and screams. Both discs are an exciting step forward for the band. They've managed to take everything they've done in the past and expand on it without being cliché or obvious.
