E S T A R A is a spiritually potent representation of the LA based producer and his growth since his first debut album in 2010 – Ardour. The music itself doesn’t represent a sea of change in terms of sound, but in the changing turmoil around Teebs himself. His first album came to be in the midst of personal hardship and the death of his father. The second album has come during a time of freedom and relative calm. Teebs who works steadily as a producer and an artist has crafted some of the finest work in his career which promotes a strengthened creative voice. His work is impeccably nuanced and sharply focused. E S T A R A contains plenty of breezy melodies, rustling rhythms, and gauzy atmospherics with loose ties to hip hop which has always been present within Teeb’s tracks. We can only hope that the next chapter of Teeb’s fruitful musical journey will be as engaging and hypnotic as this.
