Songs for Refugees is a benefit album whose aim is to raise funds for the refugees in and around the rural communities of Aguel'hoc and Tessalit in the north east Mali.  This year, when insurgents fighting for the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad attacked the town of Menaka, it sparked, what has turned into the most serious crisis the country has faced since 1960. The UN's office claims that there at least 280 000 people have been driven from their towns and villages.  This album features a superb mix of music including rare or unreleased tracks by some of the world's best Toureg groups including Tinariwen from Mali, Bombino from Niger and Nabili Baly Othmani from Algeria.
