Renowned artist Raul Malo is releasing an orchestral album which reflects on music from his time with The Mavericks and solo years, plus new and classical material backed by strings and horns. Malo recorded with a rhythm section featuring young accordionist Michael Guerra (who added Texas flavour to his Sinners & Saints album), augmented by the Northern Sinfonia Orchestra conducted by Paul Gambill in a one-off concert at Gateshead's The Sage last July In choosing the repertoire for this album, Malo delved back into his tenure as frontman for the Mavericks ("Dance the Night Away"), his two recent solo albums ("Lucky One," "Moonlight Kiss"), standards (Rogers & Hammerstein's "Indian Love Call") and Latin classics ("Guantanamera").
