"Amina Alaoui, interpreter of Arab-Andalusian music and worldwide ambassador of this tradition, combines singing, composing and musicological research in order to deepen and further master her art. These works obviously deserve of greater hearing and recognition for the fine works that they are. Music from Andalusia is like a mirror of a heterogeneous society and the encounters between its' constituent cultures. It encapsulates the heritage of the Arabian music from the East, which had integrated Greek and Persian elements and Byzantine sounds, as well as Arabian modulations and rhythms.
