Exploring the startling divide between educated urban China and its rural backwaters, BLIND MOUNTAIN focuses on the life of university graduate Bai Xuemei. Unable to find a job and anxious to pay off her family's debts, Bai is ecstatic when she is offered a position scouting for medicinal herbs in the remote countryside. But what begins as an exciting adventure soon spirals into Bai's worst nightmare as she is abducted by one of the families and forced to marry their brutish son.
