Victoria Bergsman, previously best known for her work with The Concretes and her guest vocal performance on Peter Bjorn & John's worldwide smash hit single 'Young Folks', returns with a new album with her own project Taken By Trees. Inspired by her love for the rhythm, drums and flutes of Sufi music and her deep admiration for singers Abida Parveen and the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Victoria chose Pakistan as the place to record her new album. Many of the local musicians playing on the record have previously worked with Abida Parveen and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The album is a magical musical concoction of Victoria's sublime, mysterious vocals and enigmatic lyrics, powered by the sounds, beats and rhythms of genuine local Pakistani musicianship with the additional minimal guitar playing of Swedish musician Andreas Soderstrom. The album includes a cover of Animal Collective's My Girls, (re-interpreted as 'My Boys'), and Animal Collective's singer Noah Lennox provides a guest vocal on the album track Anna.
