Australia's doom metal masters finally return from 7 years purgation with their second full length album, the 10 track monolith that is "Mons Animae Morutuorum". Latin for Mountain of the Souls of the Dead, the album takes themes from the Purgatorio chapter of the Divine Comedy, the band explore sullen musical atmospheres doused in sin, guilt and regret. Effortlessly combining a unique combination of influences that have become a signature of the Pod People sound; thick walls of suffocating doom riffing spiced with their patened "stoom" (stoner doom) influences.
