Night In The Valley

Louise Gore's warm, reflective and lyrical keys are supported here by the subtle percussion of Joe Tussie and Fiona Mackenzie's double bass. Night in the Valley is accessible modern jazz evocative of Gore's hidden NSW valley town, Bellingen, and long hours spent nightly at the piano where the music "flowed out in a steady stream". A classically-trained pianist, Louise's pull towards improvisation was influenced by late jazz pianist Jan Rutherford.
