Wasteland

Formed in Melbourne 2004, ILLZILLA have a vision to bring a new sound to Australia’s music scene. Coming together from a wide range of musical backgrounds, the band has a foot firmly planted in hip hop while producing a sound that seamlessly blends reggae, old school funk, blues, classical and rock. Fronted by MC Mantra, one of Australia’s most talked about young lyricists, he delivers razor sharp observations and narratives with devastating precision, wit and energy. ILLZILLA’S rhythm section includes acclaimed reggae producer Mista Savona on keyboards; Julian Goyma on drums; Tom Martin on guitar, and Bob Knob on bass.

Following on from their 2005 self-titled EP, Wasteland will be the band’s first full-length album. Featuring guest appearances from Paul Havea, along with MC Elf Tranzporter (Combat Wombat), MC 1-6, and Jeremedy (Inflatables), it also includes cuts by DJ Jumps (Cat Empire) and DJ Wasabi (C.M.W, Elf Tranzporter).
