The Gin Club are a Brisbane-based musical collective who have been performing since 2003. Their self-titled debut album, recently released through Plus One Records, is an eclectic mix of traditional folk, blues and country styles, featuring five distinctive song-writing voices backed by cello, accordion, piano, acoustic and electric guitar, drums, harmonica and saxophone. Their influences include Hank Williams, The Band, Bob Dylan and Crowded House. Live, they often perform covers by Will Oldham, Neil Young, Spiritualized and The Rolling Stones.

Thus far The Gin Club have performed over seventy shows around Brisbane. Their growing reputation as a powerful live act has seen them secure support slots for international artists Iron & Wine, Lambchop, Papa M and Luke Doucet, as well as local acts You Am I, Dan Brodie, Karma County, The Devoted Few and theredsunband. They recently performed to a full-house at Sydney’s inaugural Cockatoo Island Festival, and will return to Sydney in late April to play a series of shows with You Am I front-man Tim Rogers. They have also recently completed a successful tour to Melbourne with fellow Brisbane band Mexico City.

In 2004 The Gin Club featured in Triple J’s Aus Music month program as part of the ‘next crop’ of Australian artists. Their album has been in AIR Independent Top 20 for several months.
