2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY: A Kubrick masterpiece that spans from the dawn of man to it's title year when an alien artifact is found on the moon. This version omits Deckard's voiceover narration, develops in greater detail the romance between Deckard and Rachael (Sean Young) and removes the "uplifting" finale. Most intriguing of all is a newly included unicorn vision that suggests Deckard may be a humanoid. The result is a heightened emotional impact: a great film made greater. THE ISLAND: Lincoln Six-Echo is running for his life - a life he knows little about except for two things. One: Authorities at the tightly controlled facility that sheltered him said he would someday live in the paradise that is Earth's last inhabitable place. Two: It was all a lie. Ewan McGregor is Lincoln Six-Echo and Scarlet Johansson is Jordan Two-Delta, scrambling to elude deadly pursuers in an outside world they've never before experienced. Michael Bay directs, delivering high tech excitement as he peels back layers of mystery surrounding the fugitives. The sights dazzle. The pace thrills.
